• Email address and password when you register.
• Display name and profile picture if you choose to add them.
• Messages you send us via the contact form.

b) Information collected automatically:

• Browser type, device type, and operating system (for technical compatibility).
• Anonymised station play counts (no user-level tracking).
• Crash reports and error logs (never include personal data).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Gaana Vana service.
• To sync your favourites and preferences across devices.
• To respond to support requests or feedback you send us.
• To send occasional service-related notifications (no marketing without consent).
• To understand usage patterns and improve station recommendations.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure in the EU). We apply industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Access to your data is strictly limited to authorised personnel.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage (not cookies) to remember your recently played stations and locally-saved favourites. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you are logged in. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser storage.

5. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Authentication and database hosting. Their privacy policy applies to data they process.
• Google Analytics: Anonymised usage analytics. IP anonymisation is enabled.
• Radio Browser API: Station directory data. No personal data is shared with them.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymised usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
